Dispute Continues in Episcopal Church - WFSB

Six retired bishops, who also are members of the American Anglican Council, yesterday issued a statement harshly criticizing the proposed discipline. They said Smith is trying to impose unity by coercion.

A spokeswoman for the Connecticut Diocese says the priests face removal not because of their views on Robinson but because they have not been willing to meet with Smith to work out a solution.

Until proven otherwise, I willing to assume the spokeswoman speaks the truth. Even so, when you reach the point of removing priests the odds are that Smith shares some of the blame for the impass.
